1975 Graham
A gentle rose red colour, 20% opaque. Bizarre nose on the wine, really odd - full of lavender soap. Soapy orange on the palate, a little tannin giving a gentle dry grip. A really peculiar combination! A little heat on the aftertaste, a finish which is the best feature of the wine. Surely this cannot be a typical bottle. Served blind, guessed to be Sandeman 1955. Not rated. Drunk 28-Dec-23.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
