B94: red pink brown, 70% opaque. Light, pleasant, some perfume. Too light.

40% & very light coloured. Pleasant, light nose still showing some fruit. Palate similar to nose. OK. 5/7.

Mature copper-red colour, 60% opaque. Bright nose with rounded mature fruit; very expressive with a little sous-bois. Gentle, mature fruit on the palate. Mid-weight and slow to reveal what it has to show but the wine steadily builds up to be a wonderful mouthful of a berry-juice reduction. The aftertaste is full of cedar and pine and has a great length finish. Really rather lovely. 93/100.

I love it when I have a totally different view of a wine than everyone else!
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
