To record tasting notes and thoughts on fortified wines we might try which do not come from the demarcated region of the Douro Valley

1986 Borges Bual

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Borges Boal 1986, bottled 2021. A warm, rich amber colour. Fragrant nose bringing together orange and honey. The sweet orange dominates the palate, but with a lightness of touch that is quite charming. Orange and marmalade dominate the aftertaste giving a long and rather tasty finish. Very nice. 90/100. Tasted 07-May-2024.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
