I owe someone thanks, but so far I have not been able to figure out who.
A very, very kind person gave Julian a bottle of Quinta do Noval LB which, according to the labels, was imported into the UK by Simon the Cellarer (who was actually Andre Simon) and bottled in the UK in 1973.
Furthermore, the label says it is the wine from a single vintage which has been late bottled. That is something I didn't know before.
But I really do need to thank the person who generously left the bottle for me. I recall a conversation when these came up for auction, but I cannot remember who I had the conversation with!
Would my kind benefactor please post here or drop me a PM so I can thank you properly.

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

I did not know that Simon the Cellarer was Andre Simon, so thank you for that. There are a few choice Madeiras labelled by them. I cannot help with your query though!
