1932 Gonzalez Byass

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

1932 González Byass. Tasted 19-Feb-2025. Very fine sediment in suspension, ginger brown colour with a green rim. Oxidised VP on the nose. Barley sugar sweetness on the palate with a little red apple. A touch of ginger on the aftertaste and finish, good length. 82/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

This came from an auction house by the sea so had possible not had a wonderful life, interestingly one view was oxidised and another was sat on a window ledge.

It wasn’t the nicest port I’ve ever had but I did learn a lot from it.
