1985 Fonseca

Post by jdaw1 »

As organised by Neil C., some regulars and at least one first-timer gathered at the Boot and Flogger to taste 1985s at Forty.

F85, dark dark red, 70% opaque. Just like my stock of F85: silky soft with dark plums. Lovely. As was written of Cockburn 1896, “You know, it slithers down!”.

60% opacity, full red. Nose didn't offer much. Full, powerful entry, rich bramble fruit, gentle heat mid palate, pepper late and into the finish which had a slight dryness. Lovely port.
