1970 Krohn Colheita (bottled 1983)

1970 Krohn Colheita, bottled in 1983. Opened 90 minutes. Slightly cloudy appearance and a paler colour to the 1970 Taylor (bottled 2020) tasted alongside. Soft and sweet caramel on the nose. On the palate the wine shows a lovely dried fig and date but stuffed with gorgeous acidity. Bright and lively aftertaste, which explodes into life and delivers a honey and lime finish of tremendous length. Lovely wine. Rich and beautifully rounded. 89/100.

Tasted at the pre-event lunch to the Grand 1970 Tasting on 2-3 October 2025.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
