Ramos Pinto 1995, dark red with a black tone; opaque centre. Big liquorice and black plum on the nose, rather wonderful. Slightly more reserved on the palate with the fruit only expressing itself reluctantly - but what a crescendo of flavour slowly builds up. Youthful but so drinkable and with so much potential. 93/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
