$7.99, pours a dark brown/slightly oily black. no detectable nose. 18% but no heat. nutty butterscotch molasses and brown suger coated dates. both oily and unctuous, i find none of the raisin/prune aspects that i read about on cellar tracker.

93 Points - Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
"What a sensational value! Made by Trevor Jones in partnershipo with importer Dan Philips, this is a blend averaging 46 years in age. Its light to medium ruby hue is accompanied by an extraordinary bouquet of sweet candied fruit intermixed with notions of maple syrup, earth, and hazelnuts. This gorgeous tawny delivers plenty of pleasure."
i bought a few more of these just to have on hand(price.....ratings....blah blah blah ), but ended up with:
N.V. Trevor Jones Jonesy Rare Aged Port
the stores are selling both of these with the same description and rating from parker, but they are clearly different wines, no? one "rare aged" and one "old tawny"...
As I recall, the one I drank only said "Rage Aged Port" on the label. I suspect that the "tawny" line is an attempt to categorize it by whoever put up the listing, and not actually what the wine is called.
One of the problems with Port or port-like wines, either produced before the IVDP or outside of Portugal, is that terms like ‟tawny” and ‟rare old” can mean absolutely anything (or nothing)!
As they are non-vintage, I suppose that ‟rare aged” could mean ageing in barrels which would make it tawny-like, so I don’t think the descriptions are mutually exclusive.
