2003 Quinta do Noval Nacional vintage port

Deep magenta red, opaque at the centre. Still with lots of youthful grapes and blueberries on the nose. Massive opulence in the mouth with lovely sweet blueberry fruit but very chunky tannins. Fortunately the tannins and fruit are in harmony and so the tannins do not dominate. A big aftertaste, long -lasting and full of sweet grapes. 94/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
