2007 Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt,Scharzhofberger Riesling

Post by Michael M. »

Kabinett Feinherb.

Hey, what a name for something to drink :) .

Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is not one of the top names at Mosel-Saar-Ruwer but upper middle-sized class, I'd say.

Feinherb means not dry and not sweet. I think you call it "off dry". But it is certainly more in the direction of being dry.

Just out of the fridge we had it with a Risotto of organic chicken, carrot, young pea and Italian parsley.

Pale yellow. Super fresh floral nose, stone fruit. On the palate it is so fresh, vivid, crispy and lush. Hints of elderflower, white peach, apricot.

I am of course not a freak of German wines, I often prefer french wines. But this is (for 10 EUR) simply delicous. Love it.
