2000 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Traditional LBV, bottled 2004. Red-black colour, completely opaque. Very grapey nose, smelling very young. Rich blackcurrant and dark fruit on the palate; lots of morello cherry. A big presence, full of tannins - attractive and powerful. Deep, brooding aftertaste with a dry and tannic finish that fills the mouth and lasts ages. 92/100. Drunk 10 Jan 2011.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
