Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

1983 Chateau Palmer, Margaux

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature red-brown appearance, 60% opaque. Lovely nose, not huge but delightful to sniff and enjoy ”“ complex, fruity and attractive. On the palate this is smooth and evolved; lightly toasted fruit with burnt toast tannins in a wonderful balance. Late on the palate comes a burst of mature citrus acidity that is vibrant and focussed. A delicious wine to drink now or later. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
