Open on the nose, a surprising contrast to the Taylor. A distinct Fonseca grassiness on the nose and a slight harshness to the fruit. A fabulous texture, smooth and cool like new cotton sheets. Powerful tannins dominate the palate but with sweet lush fruit trying to break through. A big chewy aftertaste full of the tannins and fruitA fabulous port with so much promise. 95/100. Drunk 14-May-14
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
