1998 Quinta do Noval Silval

Intense colour, deep red and opaque. Rather subdued on the nose with a little gentle fruit. Silky texture and flavours of brown sugar, fruit and bitter dry tannins. Medium-bodied overall, with persistent tannins and fruit - and lots of brown sugar. Sweet plums and substantial tannins on the aftertaste and finish. Very chewy port! 89/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
