2000 Sandeman Vau

Rose red, 90% opaque. Fresh fruit on the nose with an interesting dose of vanilla. Silky entry and a nice palate presence. Soft in texture and with a flavour profile that is led by the fruit. Gentle tannins slowly emerge and grip but are always surrounded by lovely stewed strawberry fruit that is ripe and sweet. 89/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
