Just had to put a quick note on about this one. I was not expecting much having had not a few 96s and a couple of Rousseau wines before. Spectacular for a village wine of this vintage. It has some sweetness, which for a 96 is amazing. Very clean lines, a wonderful combination of intensity of palate and elegance, and for once I do not mean that it tastes thin when I use this word. More black fruit than red fruit and plenty of it. Has that wonderful lifted feel I associate with good burgundy. I have had Grand Cru wines which were poorer, no rush to drink it. I now get what the fuss is all about with Rousseau. Wish I'd bought some more, I must get on with developing my time machine.
Score; 92.
