2011 Dr Loosen Graacher Riesling Trocken

Post by djewesbury »

About €9 or €10 from Karstadt. Lovely lively colour, light, very pale gold. Nose with a nice sourness, something of the usual fruit, lychees, very ripe melon and perhaps apricot, with slaty minerality present as well, clean and steely underneath. Light entry, a little muted, mid palate gives up greenness and vegetality with some work (but not in a bad way, just rather like some very fresh green vegetable flavour); a little light natural petillance in the mouth too. The finish is not long, with minerality most pronounced and a dryness that feels clean on the palate.

Not sure about this yet.

I still have to find a Loosen wine that I like. Somehow their styles is not my cup of tea. (But I think I repeat myself here.)
