Bottled by Malpas Stallard Ltd of 11 Copenhagen Street, Worcester. Pale brick red, 30% opaque. Lovely nose of dusty, sweet plums and spicy aniseed - really nice and inviting. Nicely balanced on entry, pleasantly thick with powerful acidity highlighting the delicious spicy fruit. This has a real palate presence but is surprisingly dry. A touch of heat on the aftertaste, before the strong fruity acidity makes the mouth explode with flavour and settle into a long and very enjoyable toffee apple finish. Very nice port that is showing the first signs of being at the end of its plateau. Probably slightly better when popped and poured last night. 91/100. Drunk 12-Aug-14. Decanted 24 hours.
