A theme suggested by Flash: the ‘Sweet-Spot Vintages’, being 1966, 1970, and 1977, in each of Dow, Graham, Taylor, and Warre. So on Wednesday 17th June 2015 we gathered at Davy’s Woolgate.

T66 (originally ‘IV’). Brick red, 30% opaque. Bright raspberry on the nose. Palate sweet, very lovely, but slightly simple.

Bottled by the Wine Society. Brick red colour, 40% opaque. Little showing on the nose but what there is is balanced and sweet. Rich and fragrant on the palate, full of sweet fruit . A sweet and sticky aftertaste full of red jelly beans. Good length, fading slowly to a soft pine. Very nice, the terrific balance led to a guess of Warre 1966 when served blind. 91/100.
