A theme suggested by Flash: the ‘Sweet-Spot Vintages’, being 1966, 1970, and 1977, in each of Dow, Graham, Taylor, and Warre. So on Wednesday 17th June 2015 we gathered at Davy’s Woolgate.

T70 (originally ‘VII’). Dark red, 50% opaque. Palate had rich sweetness, a touch of heat, red berries. Very full and sticky.

Bottled by GT Jones & Co Ltd of Oxford. Deep red in colour with a slight brown hint. Empty on the nose, showing little. Sweet and fruity entry with soft tannins still showing in the wine and giving a dry hint to the fruit - but lots of fruit dominates although still quite young and with a lovely fragrance on the late palate. A big finish of lovely dry cherry stones. Very sticky. Guessed to be Dow 1977. 90/100.
