1985 Ferreira: apparently multiply filter, but despite that cloudy complexion. Nose as faint as the ’77, though some red fruit that could have been cranberry. Also flowers, rightly identified by AJRH as rose, who also best captured the taste: “malt chocolate”. With some heat.

Nicer than the above description suggests, and the first bottle to be emptied.

Started with a metallic nose, VA?

blew off and smelled of slight red berries, cranberries?

Chocolate purple fruit backed by a nice currant feel.

25 sec finish.

Best body and mouthfeel of the bunch.
