It was Quinta da Covela, on the "border" between the Vinho Verde and Douro regions. It was sold by Manoel de Oliveira in the 1980s.

Does Portugal have an FOI law? I've never heard it mentioned..

Yes. The regulatory agency is CADA (http://www.cada.pt/). Website is in Portuguese but contains the relevant act, decisions, etc.
