I don’t know if you’ve tried it, but it’s a very solid wine for such a rarely seen vintage. Enjoy them! Thank you! I haven't tried this yet, but I have high hopes/expectations. My first attempt to supply some pointless statistics here :-) (some of the calculations are partially manually, as my spreadsheet skills are quite basic (not to say horrible). Regarding the Fonseca Guimaerens 1947 VP. Some years ago I bought 3 bottles. I've still got them (haven't opened one yet).
I shall look up where I bought them, and send some pictures if to JDAW.

That’s a lot of bottles of Latour and Warre’s for that many people. For 170 people who won't be drinking much that's about 3 to 4 cases of Latour 90 and 1 case of Warre 77. The Latour is £9-10k per case on WS so I think I'd rather be paying for the Port  Yes, quite :D . I presume that the Lat...

on Christmas eve, I opened up a 1963 Avery's VP, it seemed a tiny bit corked. Yesterday, after Christmas dinner, we had a 1995 Kopke VP, and later on the evening I returned to the 1963, which seemed to have improved a bit (still not a great showing but quite enjoyable).

Mature, brick red colour wih a pale rim, 30% opaque. Gentle sous bois nose, with soft wild strawberry. Lovely entry, slightly woody but with sweet fruits of the forest adding a pleasant complexity. Balanced and well structured but starting to dry out. A nice profile on the aftertaste with nutty dri...

I got the chance to buy a case of Croft 1977 VP quite recently (I need to collect them yet), at what seemed to me a very decent price. Interesting; I would very much like to taste this port, along with it's '63 predecessor which I have never tried but has an excellent reputation also, and which I understand was a 2:2:1 ratio blend of Fonseca:Sandeman:Taylor respectively.
