1985 Berry Brothers (Smith Woodhouse)
Full red colour.

Admirable rich red fruited port with excellent balance of fruit and tannin.

Got a point from me.

Group's #2= WOTN, and deservedly.

Smith Woodhouse. Rich, deep red, 70% opaque. Very restrained on the nose, but a lot of agitation coaxes some good blackcurrant to emerge. Lovely blackcurrant on the palate with rich tannins showing in the wine. Lovely blackcurrant and cocoa finish. Balanced and very impressive. Great Port.
93/100. Drunk 02-Feb-22. Decanted 8 hours. My second place in my WotN voting.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

45% opacity, red. Red fruit on the nose. Lovely richness, redcurrant, cranberry, dry in the finish. Lovely port.
