1991 Taylor Terra Feita

Post by nac »

Bottle obtained gratis from TFP via Mentzendorff via Corney & Barrow in June 2020 for the TTF vertical.

Opened 1700 on 1st November 2022, the evening before the TTF vertical. Decanted, then back into the bottle and Vac-U-Vined.

Unable to tell level as bottle too dark, but no signs of seepage. However, cork fell into the bottle when attempted to remove it. Extracted later in pretty much one piece and condition OK.

Lots of heavy, compacted sediment.

QA sample OK, with no obvious faults.

With sincere thanks to the Taylor Fladgate Partnership, Mentzendorff, Corney & Barrow and nac for providing and procuring this very rare bottle.

I found this a bit spirity on the finish. "Port. But not exceptional." This was not the consensus view, however.

45% opacity, mature red-brown, slightly cloudy. Quite sharp on entry, mild alcohol, red fruit, a little thin.
