Nose OK and palate pleasant. Scored it 5/7 and a 1/2pt in WON.

Deep red.
Nose smells genuinely like port! First of the night.
Real port, cherry scented. Quite youthful.
Question. Is it ready? I think this might be better for another 10 years in the cellar.

GC83. Dark red, 60% opaque. Palate dry, with red cherry. I liked this, even though there was something slightly odd about it.

E: Dark red tending to red at the rim.
N: Another fruity nose (hooray).
P: Very much enjoyable – perhaps a little drier than I’d usually go for. Good length.
The first of three Ports from the column of acceptability. (1 point given).

50% opacity dark red. Lovely concentrated red fruit on the nose. Full mouthfeel, rich red fruit, chewy, great balance and structure.

Deep red colour, crimson with an overtone of charcoal; 70% opaque. Subdued fruit on the nose, still showing some ripe black fruit wrapped in an attractive perfume. Generous on the palate, the red and black fruit giving a generous mouthful with the charcoal tannins giving a bit of a youthful feel despite the age of the wine. The palate has lots of fruit, but very little secondary characteristics have developed so far. Burnt redcurrants on the finish. A couple of points have been deducted from the score given to this wine because of the lack of evolution. 88/100. Decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
