Re: 1992 Taylor
Deep red colour with an element of bricking in the tone; 90% opaque. Quite closed on the nose, showing some fruit but the fruit is distinctly primary in nature. Youthful but smoothed by age on the palate, lots of tannins in the young fruit. Big and powerful and very impressive on the palate. More and more patience holding the wine on the palate brings more layers and flavours. The aftertaste is rich and fruity and delivers a fabulous finish. What a Port! While fabulous to drink now, this has many decades of life and development ahead of it. Served blind this was guessed to be Fonseca 1994. My Port of the night. 95/100. Decanted 6½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
