40% opacity, red amber. Wonderful rich notes, christmascake, menthol. Full mouthfeel, white pepper, dark fruit in the background. Finish a little tart.

Re: 1955 Noval
Bottled by Grants of St. James's. Copper red colour, 40% opaque. A lovely nose, sweet and fragrant fruit gently spiced with mace and All Spice. Smooth texture, mature fruit with a coffee undertone. Rich, dried red fruit and dried figs; complex and very finely balanced giving an impression of richness and decadence. Some slight heat shows on the aftertaste before a fabulous complex and flavoursome finish takes over. A lovely mature Port. Served blind, this was guessed to be Taylor Vargellas 1970. 92/100. Decanted 6½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
