85% opacity. Wonderful powerful young dark fruit on the nose. No further note taken.

Deep red colour with no bricking; opaque centre. Youthful nose, full of primary fruit; a really lovely nose. Juicy and primary fruit on the palate, powerful tannins hiding just below the surface of the deep rich fruit. The primary fruit dominates the palate but dry, dark chocolate shows on the aftertaste with lots of tannins playing in and out of the black cherry fruit. Served blind, this was guessed to be Taylor 1997. 92/100. Decanted 16 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
