I am suggesting the 'rules' should broadly be:
- priority will be given to those liberating a bottle donated by them to the 1970 tasting last week and which now sits in JDAW's cellar
- I am happy to organise the tasting if there is interest - to be held at the Boot & Flogger some time in Q1 2026
- The capacity will probably be capped at 14
- I propose running a waiting list of those unable to attend the 1970 tasting but who would like to attend - anyone in this category goes straight to the waiting list, but see point below
- My only other suggested criteria for the waiting list would be 'bring a bottle that will not feel out of place in the expected company' - but you can be the judge of what that might mean
- I might allow 1 month from a date being set for priority attendees to declare / confirm an interest and then start promoting waiting list names to confirmed attendance
- EDIT: the date will be chosen to suit the specific availability of JDAW and I and there is a presumption JDAW may request/require some assistance if too many bottles for 1 person to transport.
And if there is not sufficient interest, I will keep 4th October 2026 free and suggest meeting JDAW for lunch!
