A true Englishman would be eating Weetabix.

If you're eating any of the foreign muck you get over there, I'll get you stopped at customs - I have friends.

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

No. Too easy.

The year of the vintage was a significant year for the land in which this wine was made.

Rules adjudication: the questioner may not ‘guess’ an answer to the question posed by the questioner, especially not as an artificial device to give some favoured guesser an extra guess. Really, admins 1 and 2: England expects better.

In case you've forgotten, I don't bat for England

I suspect that Admin 1 did not guess again before going to bed simply so that Admin 3 could not do so either.

Why is 1888 important to Australia? It wasn't even a separate country until 1901, which was the background for my first guess.

No and no.

Hmm. I have to be careful with clues, as ones suitable for the right-hand side of the pond would likely be too revealing for the left-hand side of the pond.

At about the same time that I was introduced to Port, I began wearing a particular color regularly every Friday in support of this team. The timing was a coincidence; it could be argued that the color is not.

Correct. The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers (team colors: red and white) have their Spring Game on Saturday.

Note that this is just a glorified practice for a secondary school, really, yet the stadium is sold out (80,000 seats) and tickets are selling on Ebay for $90+. Europe does not have a monopoly on football craziness, even if our game is different than yours.
