JDAW was drinking two ports that were identical apart from the vintage. I think the answer was Warre LBV 198something and 198something-else.

This thread had been silent for almost 1½ years, when I restarted it with a question about the Port being served at my wife's book club meeting. Last Friday, she and an overlapping set of friends met, again chez nous, this time for a clothes-swap party. The common element was the wife’s parties (at which her friends drink my port).

It is the question of the man who has drunk his share of a ½ bottle of Champagne, one bottle of Rhone, and is now working on the Port. What could go wrong?
