Phil needs the acid to get rid of the limescale in his bathroom's washbasin. (This was probably guessed already, but I just thought I might help to pile some guesses on our abentee quizmaster).
I think he has seen a rare bird and is now after it. It will come up as a question the next time.

AHB is close enough to take it; it was acid for a new, but supplied dry, empty battery - a replacement motorbike battery for an old 125cc I have just taken out of storage for a friend.
