Wednesday 23rd April 2014, the day before the BFT, the day after A Flight of 1966, and the same day as a vertical of Sandeman arranged by Stevens Garnier (busy week), folks gathered in The Bung Hole for 1960 versus 1963.

Re: 1963 Niepoort
20% opacity, slightly cloudy yellow brown. Nose a bit off, oranges in there, but masked by rubber and stewiness. IN the mouth this gets to sharpness quickly and a dry spiritous finish. Comes to and end quite abruptly. Not great. Incorrectly guessed to be N60.

Re: 1963 Niepoort
Brown colour, 30% opaque. Smelly on the nose, not attractive. Sweet brown sugar on the entry; strong sharp acidity with little fruit and lots of brown sugar flavours. Harsh acidity dominates the aftertaste with oranges and tannins on the immediate finish. The volume on the finish is short but the modest finish lasts well. 87/100.
