And so the thread quietly self-destructs in a logical paradox. If Derek is correct, then he isn’t correct. And if he isn’t, then he is.
It should have died here. What followed has been a mess. I am starting to think that JDAW should have locked the thread immediately after that post.
Should we have a poll?

I'll volunteer a question! What birth year port am I in the process of trying to buy 5 bottles of for $10 each from a reputable, knowledgable shop here in the states?
Hint 1: This Quinta still appears to make both table wine and port as they operate as a semi-independent entity (they're owned but still seem to operate on their own)
Hint 2: As far as I can tell, they don't produce VP anymore. They only have a 10 year tawny on offer at their online shop.
Hint 3: I was born in a not generally declared year in the '80s

I was going to guess 1988 Messias Quinta do Cachao LBV, but that would be futile.
So instead, how about 1988 Martinez Quinta da Eira Velha? Does Martinez even make a Quinta-branded LBV?

No clue, but it's not Martinez or Messias.
The name of the producer starts Quinta do M??????????? if that helps at all (the number of question marks is random).

It is not Magdalena, nor Mar. Since it seems no one has heard of this obscure producer, I'll reveal it's Quinta do Murcas and ask a gimme to pass the question asking duties: What was the most recent team to both host and win the same World Cup (Football/Soccer) tournament?

A first for OQaaT in that the quiz master is allowed to guess…
England are 344/5 at the end of the first day of the test against Sri Lanka at Lord's.
What will be the gap in run scores at the end of day 2?
DRT's first guess is England up by 256 runs.
Closest guess at the end of tomorrow's play wins.
Last acceptable guess must be submitted by 11:00 UK time on 13 June 2014.

I am assuming you mean the England score minus the Sri Lankan score at the end of day two. So England bat until just before tea and put on 160 runs? Plus 344 comes to 504. Sri Lanka reply with just shy of a hundred in the last session. So 504 take 97 comes to 407.
That's my guess; 407.

Your maths are correct. But you guessed the wrong score.

Hmmm. I reckon the boys will put another 150 on, and Sri Lanka will get about 170 in response, so my guess is 324.
