One quiz at a time
Re: One quiz at a time
The Algarve
Re: One quiz at a time
Stepped out for a pint and come back to a distinctly Friday night feel (and not a reference to Temple Bar) to some of the answers! Alas no, to all the above although Faro airport leaves only one of the guesses I expected left (is that lady who plies everyone with Port still working there?) Clue two: mainland Europe.

As close as Owen and I are to the answer I think we might benefit from a subtle clue.

Oh, I'm guessing either Vimy Ridge or Mount Etna.

The right country has been alluded to by the night owls and so I'll just hold on a bit longer before the subtle clue.

Bingo-Dunkirk (or Dunkerque) it is!
Twas in one of those Auchan chain of supermarkets in the early 90s where all the other Brits were loading up on pallets of the cold, wet and fizzy stuff and I and a few mates were in one of the quieter aisles availing ourselves of the 'proper' Belgian beer (that we'd developed a fondness for a few years before) when we espyed in an opaque bottle Vascos over 20 yrs Tawny Port. Now I liked a drop of Port and had had 10 yrs Tawny in the past and as the price was reasonable I bought it together with the over 10yrs version and found it most enjoyable. From innocuous beginnings.......!
Phew-over to you Daniel.

Re: One quiz at a time
You are in an undisclosed location.
Re: One quiz at a time
You forgot the port, surely we can have some creature comforts post-apocalypse?
The location being undisclosed is partially correct as I have yet to mention it here. Yet my wife knows.
