2003 Quinta do Noval
Deep red with a slight rose colour to the rim. A little closed on the nose but with some attractive strawberry jam. An astonishing texture, satin smooth. Wonderful sweet fruit hiding ripe tannins and perfect levels of acidity. Fabulous sweet fruit on the finish which surround and almost hide the delicious tannins. Very elegant. 96/100. Drunk 24-Sep-14. Decanted 4 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
