A couple of monkeys for an imperial of both Fonseca and Taylor 2011. Tempting. Will I get to enjoy them? Probably not, but I could enhance the cellar of my descendant...DRT wrote:For those who can't resist temptation...

Thank you gents - sounds like it was worth some scouting.
Re: Port for sale by retailer
BBR have released their own selection 2011 at £168IB per half dozen. 276 x 6-packs available.
I didn't see this at the time of the other 2011 releases, but perhaps I overlooked it.

Saintsbury has the Graham's Crusted 2004 at £15 so worth watching out for their next 25% off six bottle offer.
Re: Port for sale by retailer
The Wine Society are now listing The Society's Exhibition Crusted Port (Fonseca), Bottled 2007. Same price (13.95) as the 2006, which is still available.

Here's another recent "old stock" release by TFP which may be of interest to some on this board...
The old stencilled bottle has been tarted up with a new front / back label which gives it a slightly strange look (in my opinion), but there seems to be a nice wooden presentation box
Krohn 1965 ex-cellars release

This year, 2015, there has been a very small amount of this Port released to celebrate Krohn’s 150th Anniversary.

Interesting they launched, with no fan fare, both a Colheita and a VP.RAYC wrote:Here's another recent "old stock" release by TFP which may be of interest to some on this board...

Tesco have 2003 Sandeman Vau Vintage port reduced to £12. I cleared the shelf.

Good spot. Also online with free delivery. Failed to resist temptation (again).

Re: Port for sale by retailer
A friend alerted to me to this SV03 offer on Friday and so I did similar to JDAW today and secured six bottles-although due to the wife looking at me askance I had to leave the other two or three bottles to fight another day. Next door to the SV was a single bottle of the T85 at £40 as Tom had highlighted although I suspect (as Derek had suggested) that they might hold more out back.

If buying wine online from Tesco use their "Wine by the Case" service, not "groceries": http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/detai ... =284743884jdaw1 wrote:Tesco: “Sorry, this product is currently not available.”
"Groceries" come from your local store and will be replaced with something else if they do not have stock or will generally be unavailable during a sale. "Wine by the Case" comes from a central supply depot and is more likely to have stock.

Picked up a few of the Vau. No T85 in that branch. I'll continue looking.

Rubbish corks in the Vau - centre stripped with a good corkscrew, necessitated some jiggling (and joggling) to get the remnant out of the bottle.

Would it suffice for me to say that I am standing by the shelf in Tesco's whilst somebody retrieves some stock from backstage?
Re: Port for sale by retailer
Err, woman says not.
Re: Port for sale by retailer
Tesco wine direct are sending me some more. Just checked and some left. I prefer it being sent direct - wine from the shelf has more scope to have been mishandled.

Re: Port for sale by retailer
Very much enjoyed at a party last night. TN not taken but it had a little mint, pepper and cedar, felt silky in the mouth and was very good. If you plan on leaving these for 10 years, good luck to you. I'm sure they will be good then but I'm not sure I'll have any left then.
