25% opacity. Brown-amber, some fine sediment. Caramel and very faint strawberry. Full, rich mouthfeel, syrupy. Hot finish. Aftertaste has citrus fruits.

Mature copper red colour, 40% opaque. A little VA shows on the nose, mixed in with a little dried red fruit. Nice texture on the palate with powerful dried red fruit and powdery tannins. A little of the light VA shows a volatile tone on the aftertaste before dried herbs, green nettles and cranberry takes over on the finish. A little harsh and drying out. Served blind, this was guessed to be Taylor Vargellas 1967, bottled 1969. 83/100. Decanted 5 hours.
