On Thursday 11th December a few of us gathered together at the White Horse in Newport, Essex to open some bottles with no labels and few clues as to their identity. There were also some oddities opened alongside them. Many bottles cold be identified from their branded corks, but a large minority had no branding or illegible branding.

Re: ???? Unknown
An old bottle with an unbranded cork, from the appearance of the bottle, probably from the late 1800s. A faint and pale rose colour, 30% opaque. Faint redcurrant fruit in the nose. Gentle redcurrant intensity on the palate, a bit of heat and dryness on the aftertaste with a good finish. Delicate and lovely. 89/100.
Faded very quickly.
