One of four bottles purchased from Uncle Tom by Derek T in December 2007. The total cost of £180 was subsequently shared equally between Derek T, KillerB, Overtired & emotional and Conky, the last of whom takes credit for the contribution of this bottle to the line-up.

Mid centre, pink rim. Nutmeg on the nose over oranges and cloves. A dry entry with some tannins showing over weak fruit. The aftertaste takes some time to arrive, teases with hints of what might be enjoyed, and then fades away without ever delivering on the hints of what might have been. A weak example of a '66 port and one which should be drunk soon. 0/0 or 85/100. Decanted for 4½ hours and drunk on 28/1/08.

Like the RV66, AHB and I disagree here.

My TN reads: "Big, thick, very smooth - very impressive - slightly harsh orange peel finish"

I rated this 9th out of 14. AHB had it at 13th.

A very nice drink. Smooth, good aftertaste, not the PowerHouse of the stars, but was in my 'This could pinch 3rd, but so could the other 5 contenders!' group. Amazed as AHB's assessment, we definitely come in from different directions on this one. I suppose that's part of the fun.

Viva la difference!
