“shipped by Warre’s agent”

Purchased by JDAW for ≈£45 in 2002. BBR told JDAW that BBR’s 1966 was Warre. DRT quotes Broadbent as saying “Shipped via Percy Fox & Co, then Warre’s agents”.

Deeper in colour than the Warre '66 alongside this glass. Some alcohol coming through on the nose carrying with it scents of fresh cut grass, coffee grindings and muscvado sugar. A quiet and gentle entry carresses the tongue before delivering redcurrants and cranberries sweetened with light syrup. A decent but not memorable (in the context of the wines shown with this) aftertaste. Still plenty of mileage for this very adequate port. 3/3 or 88/100. Decanted for 4 hours and drunk on 28/1/08.

As AHB has already said this was considerably darker than the "real" Warre 66 sitting beside it. I rated this 7th out of 14. AHB had it at 10th.

My TN says "That is really nice!"

Thank you to Jdaw for this very interesting contribution to the line-up.
