Late in the evening we managed to persuade ourselves that we were in danger of becoming thirsty. Quite how I don’t known. So a $35 1996 Quinta de la Rosa was opened, and decanted, and vigorously shaken in a vain attempt to aerate. My notes are rather incomplete. Nosing of smoke, then ham, honey-roasted ham at that. Tasting very rough.
