My only observation is that we might see social restrictions be reintroduced towards the end of the year. I suggest Not leaving tastings until December!

I have contacted the B&F and requested the Red Room for Thursday 10th June (tentatively, for the TTF) and Wednesday 23rd June (tentatively, for the 1980).

2022 is a significant anniversary for 1972 and 1982 - both of which (I suspect) are likely to prove difficult to obtain many bottles for.

Might it make sense to think about combining the two and having a joint tasting?

Is there a 72 or 82 baby (or both) who would like to take on organising this one?

Or, is there an appetite to keep them separate?

Previous tasting have been moved to the end of the post to improve clarity.

I note that there are currently only four events planned for 2022Q1. Does anyone have anything they want to add yet?

What do we collectively think about the virtual tastings? One a month maybe? Unless anyone thinks otherwise I’ll go with this for the Planner.

How about a horizontal of 1955s @ 70 years old in 2025?

Suspect this might already be difficult to do due to general availability of bottles, but maybe worth considering now to give people a chance to either save bottles for it or to obtain?

Have a BBR bottled Tuke Holdworth & a Hankey Bannister Dow that I’d be prepared to save for this.

Three years to organise this should just about be enough.

Recently perusing cellar and spotted a couple of bottles of QH78LBV. So, wondered if a tasting of LBVs with some decent bottle age might be a good theme? If so, happy to organise - unless someone else fancies doing this?

Good theme, definitely interested. Pity I opened my only Vieira se Souza 1981 LBV last week.

JDAW's postponed "A Disagreement or Controversy or Misunderstanding" is still listed as Feb 2023. Assume this won't be?

After the PC etc tasting tonight, the only other confirmed in-person tastings in 2023 are the Decanting Experiment on 28/2 and Cavadinha on 28/3.

That’s a topic I’d be interested in, especially if it was a 2000 vs 2003 comparative.

However, my diary is a bit challenging over the next couple of months, until we reach the week between Christmas and New Year.

A question raised elsewhere, that probably needs asking here...

Should we be thinking about a 1945 @ 80 tasting next year?
Do we have sufficient bottles?
Would it be prohibitively expensive?
Full event for 14 or smaller event?

If we want to do this then I'm happy to organise.
