A bottle rewaxed some years ago when first acquired. Bottled in 1966. Opened 18.30, decanted 10.30, double decanted 13.00 and tasted 18.00.
Warm mature red colour, 40% opaque. Delightful fruit on the nose, generous redcurrant with hints of anise. Lovely acidity, sweet fruit and cedar on entry. Generous redcurrant, slightly sweetened with clover honey all wrapped up in a massive blanket of tobacco and cedar. The cedar dominates the aftertaste, tobacco and red jelly on the long and spicy finish. Stunning Port, just exquisite. 95/100. Tasted at the TPF Awards on 07-Feb-23. Decanted 7½ hours.

F63, opened 18:30, decanted 10:30. Red, 30% opaque. Rich; hot spice; long sweetness. Very impressive.
Re: 1963 Fonseca
45% opacity, warm red. No further note - I must have enjoyed it though as I gave it a point!
