This is what has been holding me up. Apart from other traffic on

cross checking six episodes, two series takes it out of me. Now I've got to add north of England into the search. The next is a guess and a whistful longing;

This is sort of work-related. But it isn't actually 'work'. And it isn't 'work' in the sense of the day-to-day work that pays for most of my port chits.

I have whittled and smoothed down the edges as best I can and here it is.

I have a fondness, but not the finances for oriental rugs. I have bought one which was sold to me not as a rug but as something else.
What was it sold to me as being and where was it from? I shall spare you the job of identifying the pattern and the approximate date.
