Re: 1960 Cockburn
1960 Cockburn: very dark red. Smelling of — what is that? — Eucalyptus? No, pine. Smelling of pine. Mouth sensation damaged by a cloying finish.
Re: 1960 Cockburn
Darkest wine of the evening flight. My note simply says "lovely drinky stuff". I remember being surprised and impressed by this wine and it is one that can probably be obtained for not much money.

Re: 1960 Cockburn
Mature red colour. A lifting nose, full of redcurrants and floral perfumes. A smooth entry, with enough acidity to make the mouth water, lots of fruit in elegant restrain, perhaps lacking a little complexity. A lingering and very elegant aftertaste. 88/100.

Miguel Côrte-Real sent AHB some of his own notes on the various vintages, some obviously drafted in advance, some from the day itself.

A fine quality year of good average colour and body and sufficient concentration to develop into an excellent stayer and a wine of delightful bouquet and flavour. (J.Smithes 1968)
Other
Richard Mayson sonsidered Cockburn's to be one of the best of the year.
