My notes from this session were lost. I recall that this wine had a flaw - VA or corked? It had the clour, structure and dryness that one would expect but the flaw could not be overcome by those things.

1970 Dow: lovely red, 80% opaque. Dull nose, widely and rightly described as TCA. To taste heat at the start, then grew in the mouth. Very long and large in weight, and sweet for a Dow. Second best of this ♦ flight (Bank of the Douro in Cima Corgo: Cr, D, G, OBV), second to the Croft.

I do believe the actual description from JDAW on the night was: "if you hold it in your mouth it will get bigger" :sniggericon:
