Re: 1965 Taylor Single Harvest Tawny

Taylor’s 1965 Single Harvest Port, bottled 2015. Light Green on the rim. Muted on the nose, a little orange and candied ginger. The nose improved and opened after an hour in the glass to become much more attractive. Light texture on the palate but without compromising on the intensity of flavour. Fabulous orange and mandarin with hints of tannins on the aftertaste and a long sticky finish. Showing very well. 92/100. Tasted 16-May-2024.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

1965 TSHT. Med tawny with a yellowing rim. Faintly metallic nose, but with some light caramel and ripe apricot. Nice flavor, but has a slight sharpness to it, or and "edge" if you prefer. Some sweet apricot and maybe some vanilla. 93 points.

Varnish on the nose. Licorice on the palate. Very good or, in this company, 'not bad'.

35% opacity, tan-butterscotch. Marmalade and macademia nut on the nose. Fresh, good balanced acidity, seville oranges.
